CISO, Terna, Italy
Francesco Morelli is the Head of “Cyber Security & Security Platforms” and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Terna Group, where he previously held responsibility for “Corporate Protection”.
In the field of security for over 15 years, he worked as a Carabinieri Officer (Italian Military Police with civilian duties) at the Corps’ General Headquarters, where he served in increasingly important positions throughout his career, dealing with web platforms, automotive systems and mobile applications as Head of "Internet and Intranet Communication".
Graduated in Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan and the Technical University of Hamburg, he has refined his cyber security skills through year of training, acquiring crucial knowledge and skills in detecting and combating digital crimes.
From an international prospective, he was, in 2009, a member of the training team of the European project PHARE, in charge of activities aimed at increasing the use of web technologies in the "Human Rights" sector in Turkey.
In 2016, he was involved in the creation of an online cybercrime reporting platform in the Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), which was part of a strategic project funded by the European Union.
He lectures at LUISS University, focusing his lessons on Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructure, and at UniMol’s “Cyber Security” Master’s Degree, focusing his lessons on "Web Site Threats", "Cybercrime" and "Deep and Dark Web". Member of the Scientific Committee at Campus Biomedico University for the “Homeland Security” Master’s Degree, he lectures focusing his lessons on technologies for the protection of Critical infrastructure.
ISACA member with CISM certification, he is part "System Resilience" Steering Committee in ENTSO-E.
